Summer Sampler 2008 It’s the ultimate summer adventure—a trip back in time! The museum’s Summer Sampler program provides opportunities for children age 4 and older to experience various aspects of 19th-century life in the Genesee Country. This year’s offerings include Year 4 of Living a Long Time Ago for ages 4-7, Historic Fiction Comes to Life for ages 11-15 and School of the Soldier for ages 10-15. On the first day of class, youngsters receive a loan of period clothing, which becomes their outfit for the week. The weeklong classes take place Monday through Friday, with the first session beginning the week of July 7 and the last session beginning the week of August 18. Classes for children age 8 and older begin at 10 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. The cost is $200 per week for nonmembers and $150 per week for members. Busing and extended care options are available; see the Registration Form for details. Advance registration is required. For times and costs of classes for children age 4-7, please see individual program descriptions. Youth Programs Catalog (800 kb)
