for his masterful and realistic renderings of nature and wildlife. Bateman

portrays historic structures in his work. In Shelter, a print based
on an 1987 painting, Bateman celebrates the ubiquitous barn, writing that
“The barn is a wonderful part of man’s architectural heritage.
