The museum is housed on more than 600 acres of rural land in scenic Mumford, N.Y. There's plenty to do and see during your visit to the 19th century. You'll see demonstrations of crafts and trades commonly practiced in the 1800s in America and learn about details of day-to-day life on the farm and in the city. You can even get an in-depth look at special topics and take part in hands-on learning opportunities throughout the museum. Explore one of the finest collections of wildlife and sporting art at the museum's gallery. Hike on five miles of interpreted trails at the Genesee Country Nature Center. If you get tired of walking through the historic village, make yourself comfortable on our wheelchair accessible trolley. It circles the village at regular intervals every day during July and August and on weekends in May, June, September and October. Benches and picnic tables are located throughout the site. Wheelchairs are available for use on site for $6 per day on a first-come, first-served basis. Please call (585) 538-6822 for availability. |
