Period costumes, rules and etiquette are meticulously adhered to by our four local teams and visiting opponents. The hawkers ply vintage snacks. Boys man the scoreboard. And unattended ladies are asked to sit in the appropriate section to avoid scandal.
Our Silver Base Ball Park is the first and finest 19th-century replica ball park in the nation. Bone up on vintage rules and slang so you can appropriately jeer the muffin or cheer a stinger.
As the museum looks to incorporate small 19th-century community teams that were playing ball in western New York, the Victory Base Ball Club of Phelps will be introduced this year, replacing the Knickerbockers, a New York City club,
This year's season officially starts on Sunday, June 4. The National Silver Ball Tournament is August 12-14 and the Mayor's Cup Championship will be played Sept. 24-25 and Oct. 1-2.
This year museum teams have been invited to play exhibitions in Sackets Harbor and Sodus Point.
